All the fighting styles and techniques you have taken from these so call martial arts schools are just like taking gym class from high school. You get the needed exercise for promoting your fitness and their goal is to take your monthly class payments. Most of them never really show you how to defend yourself in a REAL fight with full speed and power. State regulations prohibit instructors to cause harm to students. How are you ever going to learn to fight for REAL? Now I'm not saying every one of these dojos are bad. Some places are real tough fighting schools, but I can't be telling you which ones are the real deal since I don't know your local area.
Most of the things you've learned from your schools speak about peace above all else and running away from all brawls and confrontations because these only causes more problems. Teachers give you about the "Violence is not the answer... " speech before even supposedly teach you about defending against attacks. That was my mindset before I learn the truth in fighting.
I remember my first bloody violent brawl at the club years ago... it earn me a first class ticket straight to the emergency room. I didn't even last a full 30 seconds during the fight. My girlfriend and friends witnessed me getting smashed to the ground by a much smaller Asian dude. That was definitely the most embarrassing moment in my life. Thinking about peacefulness was the last thing in my head, while laying in the hospital bed. I had to become a better fighter to better defend myself and my love ones against violent encounters.
I will tell you that, If you don't wish to experience or see any violent events. Please never go to bars, clubs, and social places that serve alcohol. You will for sure encounter messy violent scenes and if you are unprepared, you may be a victim of violence.
With the right fighter's mindset, you exert extreme confidence during any events and will never fear another fight again. Destroy your attacker in the streets or in the ring, no matter how big, strong, or highly skilled they are.
