Two Simple Rules That Can Make It Easy And Natural To Consistently Lose Weight

By Cindy Burgenstein

Most adults today are overweight. And almost every one of us is always on the lookout for the next super diet that will once and for all help us to finally shed the pounds.

It seems that as more and more of us struggle with our weight, there are more and more people coming up with crazy ideas to help us lose it. Many of these are great, and are based soundly on science. One of the troubles is that they can be difficult to comprehend, let alone follow.

Here I'd like to help you with a couple quick rules of thumb on how to eat the right kinds of food. When you eat he right kinds of fats and carbohydrates, you will go a long way in naturally slimming down.

One huge enemy to weight loss is sugar, or bad carbs. Of course, the easy solution is to give up all carbs completely, but who are we kidding? That last time I tried that I was a basket case after only two days.

Believe it or not, some carbs are better than others. How can you tell the difference? Avoid anything processed. A quick and easy rule is to choose brown, if you have a choice. Brown usually means less processed.

Yellow pasta is not as good as brown pasta. White rice is not as good as brown rice. Wheat bread is better than white bread. White carbohydrates are treated almost like sugar by your body, so you can think of them as pure sugar in disguise.

Good fats and bad fats can be another mystery. The easy way to choose is pick natural over processed, or solid over liquid. Solid fats in fish, avocado, and nuts are good. Liquid fats in oils, and all deep fried foods, are bad. Pretty simple.

While these rules are only a rough guide, they can go a long way in helping you choose the right foods, which can support a healthy body and lifestyle.
