Why Did I Stop Losing Weight?

By Trevor Johnson

If you have been trying to get thin and do something about your weight, then you will probably have started eating properly and exercising. There are some people though who experience a decrease in weight loss after a while and they wonder, why did I stop losing weight?

There are a few reasons for this, and these will help you start up on your old regime and make it work again. The main thing you are going to have to do, is alter the way you see your weight loss goals. Now, the first thing that you need to do is set a goal that is real. You do not want to set a high goal that you will not reach in the end.

If you are aiming to lose weight the one thing that you should keep in mind is that you should only lose up to three pounds a week, so you have to set your end goal around this number. Any diet that promises faster weight loss than this is not likely to be healthy for you. It's better to lose weight steadily than yo-yo up and down.

You will then have to make sure that you do not lose fat too quickly, because if you do, you will only put that fat back on in a few months, or you will stop seeing results and you will have to reset.

Being on a diet will help you, but you should not be on a diet in the traditional sense of the word. You should consume six smaller meals each day, and also take note of your fat and calorie intake - other than that, EAT!

To see your progress you should not go according to a scale, but rather see how your clothes fit. You'll oftentimes find yourself being congratulated by friends for losing weight even though they've not weighed you! Keep an old pair of jeans aside that are your goal size and then keep trying them on each week to see your progress.
