Trendy Layered Haircuts For Women

By Suzan K Bishop

I'll admit it. I'm a layered hair enthusiast. Yet it's really not much of a stretch to say layered haircuts for women are here to stay. And I think they're so popular for three reasons.

One, layered hair cuts suit most any face shape.

Two, you get extra bounce and added fullness from layers. Giving you a fresh yet natural look that can't be beat.

Three is all the styling options you've got with layered hair. Which is true whether you've got naturally curly, wavy or straight hair.

Now it's important to understand that layered haircuts help change the way your face looks. Since this is a big advantage let's look at the how such cuts might affect face shapes.

Those with round faces might be better off with long layers for instance. Taking this approach you'll find narrows your face in most flattering way.

Despite the difference this can make don't just flip a coin when it comes to doing this or not. Get your stylist's opinion on how this would work with your face shape before taking the layered plunge.

Your embrace of any layering master plan should also take into account how many and where layers are cut in. Because this can affect things too.

Now if you're one with longer hair, well, in that case one way to go would be to have layers cut into the last three inches of hair. Leaving the rest of your hair the same length would let you wear a flip at say that came to shoulder level. Another option would be to request side swept bangs.

Don't forget that all textures and types of hair benefit from layers being added. Also layering works extremely well with wavy hair, looks good with straight hair and helps naturally curly hair to stay in line. With fine hair layers create the illusion of fullness and added volume.

Obviously there's nothing to stop you from playing with color too while you are at it too. Because highlights look great with layered hair. Taking it a step further you could change your color completely. Changing to a darker base color followed by lighter steaks on top of that. And image what that would do for your appearance.

So yes, you are right. I'm enthusiastic about layered hair. But how can you blame me? If you've caught the layered haircut bug too, I'd encourage you to see which of the many choices when it comes to layered cuts might work best for you. Especially if you're sick and tired of the look you've been sporting for too long now.
