Cardio Edge Calorie For Calorie, Cardio Has A Slight Advantage.

By Pedro Toledo

Music has hidden benefits. It can soothe you, motivate you, anger or depress you. You can find any type of music that will match your mood. If you run then you want to make sure that you stay at a specific heart rate to get the maximum workout while at the same time enjoy yourself. You can be a better runner with some type of music to help spur you on to a higher level. Maybe you have been trying to run a little bit longer or a little bit faster. Music can actually help you do just that.

You are going to run. You are not gong to run for more than 20 minutes either. But you are going to run. Not everyday, not for hours, and not up a perpetual hill. You can start out with a brisk walk to overcome your fears, or even a light jog, but you are going to do it. You are going to do it, and it IS going to help you. Let's get started.

Music can help you keep at a certain running pace. Have you ever noticed that when you favorite song comes on the radio you might perk up a bit and are actually happier? You can have this same reaction while you are running. When you are happy the strenuous workout won't seem so bad. The time will actually seem to fly right by. This is why it is important that the music you own or purchase to help you run is one that you not only enjoy but love. You could listen to it a thousand times and never get tired of hearing it.

If you suffer from some form of depression--get on the treadmill. I'm not saying that this will solve your problem immediately, but it could very well help. I know this because I was prescribed Paxil to treat what I thought was mild depression during my later college years. Running helped me tremendously. It helped me to the point that not only did I ween myself off of the medication and my depression essentially disappeared, but I haven't even taken so much as a Tums for an upset stomach in I don't know how long. My mental state is night and day compared to what it used to be and I can directly attribute my success to taking action and slowly working up a jogging routine. This changed my life.

But music that is upbeat and not sad and depressing will get you in time with the beat. You will unconsciously stay on beat with the music. You will find that just as your clothing and shoes are a requirement so too is music. It will help keep you in fine running form.

Second, some of you will have physical health issues--in particular bad knees. I do not have the best knees myself. In fact, my legs as a whole have never been the strongest parts of my body in my lifetime. They will get sore from time to time, and I even get some fluid buildup that will keep me out of commission for a day or two. This is where I believe the Horizon Fitness Treadmill is an appropriate model for those who have knee issues. I have personal experience with the T90 treadmill and the cushioning is a life saver. It seems to have super-shocks built into it. When I bounce on this machine I don't experience anywhere near the pain I do when I run on the hard concrete surface. This is not to say that I never experience some pain, but this happens every now and then even at random and not solely because of exercise. That Horizon Fitness Treadmill has done wonders, and it is so simple to use. If you have some form of high blood pressure, light jogging has been shown to reduce blood pressure. When you jog, your arteries will expand and contract more than usual. This helps your overall blood flow, improving your overall condition. You maximize your lungs potential as well. You will be forced to breathe heavier--and doing this will force your body to release more endorphins. Remember, you do not have to punish yourself! 20 minutes every other day to start will suffice. The most important thing to know is that you can improve your condition quickly with simple action. If you believe in yourself, and you want a solution, it is there for you. Whatever you decide to do--decide to do SOMETHING!
