Can Hemorrhoid Bleeding Be Dangerous for You?

By Tom Om

Hemorrhoid bleeding is caused by the irritation of swollen hemorrhoid veins and anal tissue. They can be external or internal. Hemorrhoid bleeding, especially internal hemorrhoids, often go unnoticed until blood appears spotted on toilet paper in the stools after a bowel movement.

Hemorrhoid bleeding is often a result of too much pressure on the rectal and anal veins. This is often a consequence of too much sitting, poor diet, obesity, pregnancy, and lack of exercise.

The painful effect of hemorrhoid bleeding can mostly be relieved easily with simple medications. Thus, if the hemorrhoid bleeding causes you a rigid pain you must consult an expert for the best result instances.

Self-care and home remedies practiced regularly will usually relieve the symptoms of bleeding hemorrhoids. Creams, ointments, pads, and suppositories can be purchased over-the-counter to treat bleeding hemorrhoids.

Such products containing corticosteroids act as a vasoconstrictor to reduce bleeding and itching. Witch hazel, petroleum jelly, or aloe vera applied directly with a cotton swab are also effective, soothing home remedies.

A healthy and regular diet and taking at least 6 glasses of water can easily smoothen the symptoms of bleeding hemorrhoids. Increasing fiber and decreasing spicy foods in your daily food intake is being recommended.

Using a toilet roll in maintaining one's hygiene is necessary by wiping the affected area after defecation in order to lessen the pain, itching and irritation.

If you have bleeding hemorrhoids, refraining from wearing close-fitting undergarments is very useful in preventing hemorrhoids to grow and causing further body irritations.

Though the area may itch, try not to scratch as this will exacerbate the bleeding and further inflame the hemorrhoid. Perfumed products and products containing alcohol, such as lotions, scented toilet paper, and body spray are irritants that should be avoided.

Hemorrhoid bleeding is not dangerous, if you act immediately. Make usage of a proper diet, natural medication and wear any comfortable garments that will not inflame the affected area. If symptoms persist consult a specialist for a well-detailed medical treatment.
